Native of Alabama and associated witht the aviation industry from World Wat II until the time of his death. One of the founders and later served as President and Chairman of the Board of Hayes International Corporation. Through vision, combined with hard work and carefully selected management team, built the company into one of the nation's leaders in aviation and aerospace industry. A tireless worker who believed in his city, state and country, he gave unselfishly of his time and services to those organizations dedicated to the betterment of all mankind. Hayes International Corporation, the company he helped to organize, now stands as a monument to the fulfilled dream of "Lew" Jeffers.
