Born
in Bellingham, Washington in 1907. Flying career started with
a home-built glider in 1924. Served in the Army Air Service
in the twenties. Employed by National Park Airways whcih later
merged with Western. Participated in the Army Airmail effort
in 1934. Joined United Gas Company as a corporate pilot in 1938.
Transferred to International Paper Company in 1940. During World
War II was Experimental and Production Test Pilot on Consolidated
B-24 project. Returned to Mobile, Alabama and resumed Flight
Operations for International Paper Company. Served the company
32 years with a perfect safety record. Active in promoting corporate
aviation and technical progress in the United States and abroad.
