Born
in Raymond, Mississippi in 1908. Joined the U.S. Army Air Corps
at Maxwell Field, Alabama in 1931. Selected by General Chennault
in 1936 to go to China as a technical advisor to geralissimo and
Madam Chiang Kai-Shek. He assisted in the planning, establishing
air bases and organizing the Chinese war effort against Japan.
Upon return to the U.S. he became an instructor at Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University. Back in Montgomery, he was chief engineer
for the construction of WSFA-TV. He continued to be a supporter
of aviation long after his flying activities ceased. He remains
active in the Air Force Reserve Association and the Order of Daedalians.
