Born
in Athens, Alabama in 1927. Began flight training at age fourteen.
Completed training as a pilot and aircraft mechanic following
military service in World War II. During career in private industry,
promoted the expansion and development of general aviation airports
throughout the United States. Longtime member of Pryor Field Airport
Authority and owner and CEO of successful fixed base operation
in decatur. Active member of the experimental aircraft association
and recipient of numerous awards for the restoration of antique
aircraft. Served as Senior FAA Aviation Safety Counselor in the
state of Alabama. Appointed to Alabama Aeronautics Commission
in 1997.
