Dr. Ernst Stuhlinger, PhD was born in Germany in 1913, and has been on the cutting edge of atomic, electrical and rocket science ever since. He was first in the atomic energy field in 1939. Later, he transferred to Dr. Von Braun's team at Peenemuende, where he worked in the field of guidance systems. Following World War II, he was one of the team of 126 scientists who came to the United States with Dr. Von Braun. His outstanding scientific work at Marshall Space Flight Center represents a broad spectrum of activities leading to all of the major breakthroughs and developments in rocketry, Space Lab and the Hubbell telescope. He has devoted much time and study to the area of electric propulsion systems for space vehicles of the future. He became a naturalized citizen in 1955 and happily makes Hutsville his home.
