Cub Scouts AIRCRAFT Elective!         
Saturday, September 22, 10am - 12pm

(Bring an adult for every scout)
Build a scale model aircraft, build and test fly a glider and paper copter and find out how hot air balloon works. Complete six of the seven requirements of your AIRCRAFT badge at the Southern Museum of Flight! Each scout receives a set of pilot wings. 
2 hours   
$20 per scout includes an aircraft model.

HIGH FLYING! Saturday Afternoons
Southern  Museum of Flight

Fly out to see to us at the Southern Museum of Flight for these Special Saturday afternoons featuring a different HIGH FLYING THING! each month. This month's program will feature Helicopters.  Families will get a chance to: Make and fly a paper copter, see a remote control helicopter show and get in one the museum's real helicopter.

Fly out to see to the Southern Museum of Flight for these Special Saturday afternoons featuring a different HIGH FLYING THING! each month. This month's program will feature Balloons. Families will get a chance to: Make a hot air balloon, see a remote control balloon in action and learn all about the history of balloons.

Investigate the how and why of airplane flight, get in a cockpit, find out how aircraft engines work, design and test fly a balsa gilder, see a radio control helicopter in action and fly a cross country on a flight simulator in the Southern Museum of Flight’s "Learn to Fly Center" and earn your AVIATION Badge!
Bring brown bag lunch.  Drinks and snacks available on site

Learn to be weather reporter, use weather maps, clouds and instruments to predict the weather, find how pilots use these to plan safe flights, find out about weather emergencies, frontal systems and trends, visit a live weather station at the Southern Museum of Flight and earn your WEATHER Merit Badge !
Bring brown bag lunch.  Drinks and snacks available on site.

Learn to identify the clouds you see in the sky; Find out how a pilot uses all this information about weather when he is flying. Complete four of the six requirements of your WEATHER badge at the Southern Museum of Flight!  Each scout receives a set of pilot wings.
